When I was in the Mapies, Shoretire said, “I was very young.” However, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho, two of my favorite players, were the ones I looked up to. I believe I’ve made an effort to emulate their style of play, which is very technical and all-around skillful.
“But then, I believe, Alan Shearer was playing for Newcastle, a little before my time. Because of all that he has accomplished for the team, he is a legend up in Newcastle. It was through hearing his tales and learning about the club’s past that I became interested in playing football in Newcastle.

“It was an amazing sensation,” Shoretire recollected. “Just being a member of the team while sitting on the bench.
Then, I had nothing on my mind when I was asked to enter the pitch. I was at a loss for what to think.
“Given my journey from Newcastle to Manchester, it meant a lot to me to get my first game against Newcastle.” It was great to be playing against them.
