Man Utd Boss Ten Hag ‘Not Thinking’ About Losing His Job

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he is “not thinking” about the club’s owners’ decision to change managers and insists they are “all on the same page.”

The Old Trafford club was defeated 3-0 by Tottenham on Sunday, leaving them 12th in the Premier League with seven points from their first six league games.

United have already lost three top-flight games this season, and their point total is the club’s joint-lowest after six Premier League games. Reported BBC.com.

When asked if he felt United’s hierarchy could consider they needed a replacement manager in control after the Spurs defeat, Ten Hag replied, “I am not thinking about this.

In His Words?

“We all decided to continue together as an ownership and leadership group in the summer.

” And made the decision from after a clear review what we have to improve as an organisation and how we want to construct a squad.

“We knew it would take some time because of how the [transfer] window went, some late-arriving players like [Manuel] Ugarte, as well as some organizational improvements, and we still have to deal with some injuries, including from some impact players.”

“I hope we will improve there. We need some time. We are all on the same page or in the same boat, including the ownership, leadership, staff, and players. I’m not concerned about that.”

United finished eighth in the Premier League last season, their lowest placing since 1990, but they defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup final, and a post-season evaluation done by a new football structure put in place by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe determined Ten Hag would remain the role he started in 2022.

Chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth were not involved in the evaluation because they were not in their positions at the time, but before to a 3-0 league defeat by Liverpool at Old Trafford on September 1, Berrada stated that Ten Hag had “our full backing”.

United fell behind against Spurs after three minutes when Brennan Johnson scored, and captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off just before halftime.
