He will leave Manchester United permanently and join Girona, who will compete in the Champions League next season. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, he stated, “Dear Manchester United family, today is a memorable day as my adventure at the club comes to an end.”
“I’d like to thank you for your years of support. We were made to feel really welcome at Manchester United from the moment we arrived, which we appreciate.
“We want to thank everyone at the club for making us feel at home. A big thank you to all of the fans who helped make these years wonderful. Aside from football, the birth of our two children here guarantees that Manchester will always hold a particular place in our hearts. Good luck to everyone; we will meet again.”
