Man Utd Players Need More Time To Learn Amorim’s System, Hojlund Says

Manchester United players need more time to adjust to new manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 style, according to striker Rasmus Hojlund, who came off the bench to score both goals in the club’s 2-1 Europa League victory over Viktoria Plzen.

The Danish forward, who earlier stated that Ruben’s system suited his playing style, has five goals in six Europa League games this season.

“We need more time. It’s very early days,” the 21-year-old told TNT Sports.

“It’s about getting the routines together and I think it’s getting under the ski, but obviously it needs a lot of practice and a lot of time.

“We don’t have many sessions, so we have to train it during matches. I know it sounds funny, but it’s the best way to learn.”

Hojlund stated that United had struggled with weather conditions in Plzen earlier in the game before making a second-half comeback that propelled them back into the competition’s top eight, where they seek automatic qualification to the round of 16.

“It was a little tricky. Today was extremely cold, with tough circumstances and a soggy pitch. We had to cope with it, and we got it resolved in the second half,” Hojlund said.

On Sunday, United, currently 13th in the Premier League, will travel to Manchester City, the defending champions.
