Manchester United have reportedly turned down Real Betis offer to sign Antony on another loan deal as a permanent transfer is hanging on their European ambitions.
The Mirror claims that United’s top management has identified Antony for a summer departure.
The club decided to decline Betis’ latest offer of a loan extension because they want to recover £30 million ($40m) for the Brazilian winger, who originally joined the Red Devils from Ajax for £85 million ($113m) in 2022, in order to help head coach Ruben Amorim build a £200 million ($265m) transfer war chest.
Betis will probably need to make it to the Champions League the next season in order to reach that price.

In La Liga, Manuel Pellegrini’s team are now three points behind fifth-place Villarreal, who, according to the UEFA coefficient system, may earn Spain an additional qualifying berth.
The Yellow Submarine also have a game in hand over Los Verdiblancos.
After a dismal two and a half years in Manchester, Antony has found his best form again under Pellegrini. Since joining Betis on loan in January, the 25-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions and contributed to eight goals.
The Brazilian’s motivation is rather obvious. He can get a permanent transfer to the team that has rejuvenated him if he can lead Betis to Champions League qualification.
However, Antony’s steady performances will make him a desirable target for other teams in need of some flair and creativity, even if Betis fail to achieve their objective.
It appears like the former Ajax star’s future does not involve a return to Old Trafford, whatever of Betis’ fate.
