Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to have decided to leave Manchester United in the summer with his family already preparing to move out of their Cheshire home.
Ibrahimovic joined the Red Devils last summer on a free transfer from PSG and the Swede has been incredible for United, netting 17 goals in the Premier League and 28 in all competitions.
The 35-year-old is currently in the USA, recovering from surgery after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in the Europa League quarter-final win over Anderlecht.
But despite United offering Ibrahimovic use of their facilities at Carrington, the Mirror is reporting that the Swede’s family is packing up their home in Cheshire as they get ready to say goodbye to England.
The report says that his family are already saying their farewells to friends in the area with a move back to Sweden – to work with Malmo-based physiotherapist Richard Dahan – on the cards.
With the move it appears Ibrahimovic will turn down the chance to sign a one-year extension at Old Trafford and will instead focus on getting himself fit and back to action in time for a swansong.
The striker’s recovery is set to take around nine months which fits in perfectly with the start of the 2018 MLS season, and with Ibrahimovic also working with his surgeon in Pittsburgh the attacker will have the chance to discuss a potential deal with American sides.
Ibrahimovic’s 17 league goals mean the striker has netted more finishes in the top flight than United’s other forwards combined – Marcus Rashford has five while Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial have four each.
