Vincent Kompany has handed Manchester City a huge boost by making his long-awaited return to full training.
The City skipper has been out with a calf problem since Boxing Day, when he came off the bench but lasted just nine minutes following a recurrence of the injury.
Kompany , 29, has made just 12 appearances this season and has not started a game since City’s Champions League win away to Sevilla on November 3.
But City’s imperious skipper is closing in on a first-team return, although tomorrow’s clash with title rivals Leicester will come too soon for him.
City have suffered without Kompany’s experience and composure at the back, with seven of their eight defeats this season coming when he has been absent.
