Manchester City, after becoming the first team in over two decades to do the treble, will feature in the Community Shield this summer.
The last two seasons have seen The Citizens participate in the yearly curtain-raiser, however they have lost on both occasions.
In the 2021 edition, City lost 1-0 to Leicester before being defeated 3-1 by Liverpool to start the current campaign.
However, Pep Guardiola’s team will have another opportunity to make amends for those losses later this year.
In the FA Cup final at Wembley, City defeated rival Man United 2-1 to build upon their third consecutive Premier League title.
City then added the finishing touch to their crown by winning the Champions League for the first time ever, after beating Inter Milan 1-0.
The Premier League champions and FA Cup winners generally square off at Wembley in the showpiece event. However, if a single team wins both trophies, they will then face the Premier League’s runner-up.
That means Premier League runners-up Arsenal will be involved after City beat Man United in the FA Cup final.
