Manchester United Failed To Sign A Potential Striker Compared To Erling Haaland

Two years ago, Manchester United attempted to acquire the highly-regarded striker Benjamin Sesko.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was his hero and he has been likened to Erling Haaland.

He has the potential to severely harm England’s chances of qualifying for Euro 2024 tonight. Manchester United had made an attempt to sign him.

Benjamin Sesko followed the same route two years ago between Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, agreeing to pay almost £20 million to join the Bundesliga team and the largest club in the Red Bull network.

He just signed a new contract with the team, deterring potential suitors like Arsenal for the time being.

The Slovenian striker is as swift and tall as the Norwegian, according to Manchester Evening News

He has sadly failed to score in the European Championship thus far but if he is declared fit tonight, he will pose a serious threat to England.

He scored another 18 goals in his last season at Salzburg. Sesko scored 14 goals in 31 Bundesliga games the previous season.

United had strong interest in him.

During that summer, John Murtough, the football director told how he had called a club to find out about a young player who had received a £15 million offer, only to be informed that United had received a £28 million offer.

Although the player’s identity was never revealed, there have long been rumors that he was talking about Sesko.

That was a substantial amount for an undeveloped striker in the Austrian Bundesliga who scored fewer than three goals a game.

However, the fact that United got so close to Sesko and Haaland without closing a deal does not speak well for them.
