Manchester United have won 13 penalties this campaign, the most in a single Premier League season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were awarded a spot kick in the 27th minute of their game away to Aston Villa, with Bruno Fernandes controversially deemed to have been fouled by Ezri Konsa.
Fernandes stepped up to take the penalty, setting United on their way to a 3-0 victory, with Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba also finding the net.
United have now been awarded an unprecedented 13 penalties in the league this season.
In addition, United have become the first team in Premier League history to win four games in a row by three goals or more.
In their previous game the Red Devils beat Bournemouth 5-2, with Greenwood scoring a brace, while Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Fernandes also scored.
Prior to that, Solskjaer’s team won 3-0 away to Brighton. Greenwood also scored in that game, with Fernandes netting twice.
That followed on from another 3-0 victory, this time at home to Sheffield United, when Martial scored a hat-trick.
Solskjaer’s side are playing superbly well and will be confident of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
