The 21-year-old has had difficulty establishing a regular position at Brighton after returning from a six-month layoff last year due to a knee ailment.

Enciso has made ten appearances off the bench and started just two Premier League games so far this season.

The Paraguay international, who originally signed a £9.5 million contract with Brighton in 2022, has now consented to spend the rest of the season on loan at Ipswich Town in order to support Kieran McKenna’s team in their fight to stay in the league.

A Paraguayan publication claims that United attempted to sign Enciso on a loan.

According to the report, Enciso was considered by Manchester United as a replacement for Alejandro Garnacho, who is wanted by Chelsea and Napoli.

Enciso, however, declined United’s approach because he thinks he will get more playing time at Ipswich, reports Metro.

This week, United and Napoli continued their negotiations over a deal for Garnacho, but the two teams still have different opinions about how much the Argentina international is worth.

Napoli is currently looking at alternatives to Garnacho and has begun negotiations with Borussia Dortmund to get Karim Adeyemi.
