According to rumors in Italy, Manchester United and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen have reached a “basic agreement” ahead of the summer transfer season.

Osimhen, who is in the last six weeks of his loan with Galatasaray, has made 35 appearances for the Turkish team this season and scored 30 goals.

The Nigerian international is poised to win both the Turkish league and the cup this season, with Galatasaray five points ahead of Fenerbahce in the Super Lig and a matchup with either Trabzonspor or Goztepe in the Turkish Cup final next month.

In the final moments of the summer transfer window last season, Osimhen was on the verge of joining Chelsea but the Premier League team was unable to reach an agreement with Napoli for the striker.

Even before it was obvious that the striker would be leaving the Serie A team, United continued to keep tabs on Osimhen’s status at Napoli.

Osimhen is still a top target for United, who are actively negotiating a potential summer transfer agreement.

The 26-year-old’s contract with Napoli includes a €75 million (£64.2 million) release clause that only non-Serie A clubs can really trigger, reports Metro.
