Manchester United Returns On-Loan Reguilon To Tottenham

MANCHESTER, England – On Thursday, Manchester United terminated its loan agreement with Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon. Reported by manchester News.

The Spanish left back joined Manchester United on a season-long loan in August. However, United has used a contract break clause, and Reguilon will return to Spurs.

“With fewer games in the second half of the season and injured players returning, there will be less opportunity for Sergio to play,” United manager Sir Alex Ferguson stated. “It was decided it was in the best interests of all parties for Reguilon to return to Spurs.”

Reguilon, 27, was brought in to cover injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at the start of the season. He appeared in 12 different contests.

Shaw has now returned, and Malacia is on the mend.

“Sergio fulfilled the role he was brought in for: to provide cover for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia while both were out with long-term injuries.

“While Luke has missed the past two games with a minor injury, the England international is expected back soon. Tyrell, meanwhile, is getting closer to a return from his knee injury.”

United was knocked out of the Champions League and the English League Cup. This means that manager Erik ten Hag is unlikely to encounter fixture congestion and additional pressures on his players in the second half of the season.
