Manchester United are reportedly looking to re-sign Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay.
According to Marca, United have been monitoring the 28-year-old Dutch forward’s situation and are now considering an £8.4m bid.
Barcelona is eager to get Depay off the books before the deadline in order to register new signing Jules Kounde for the La Liga season.
Serie A giants Juventus had been linked with Depay, but they are now prioritising a loan for Marseille forward Arkadiusz Milik.
Depay joined United in June 2015 for a reported sum of £25 million on a four-year contract, becoming the club’s fourth signing from PSV after Jaap Stam, Park Ji-sung, and Ruud van Nistelrooy.
There are extremely few rest days, thus on training days, recovery is the major priority. My body needs to get acclimated to the strain of playing two high-level games per week.
Assistant manager and former United player Ryan Giggs, refuted these accusations, blaming Memphis’ expensive lifestyle for his subpar performance.

Memphis Depay Turns To Man United Following Failed Juventus Deal
The speculations follow Depay’s unsuccessful transfer to Juventus. According to reports, he was set to join the Serie A giants on a Bosman move, ending his contract at Barcelona, but his salary expectations of €8 million+ proved too much for the Old Lady.
This is not a player who can restore United to the top of the table, but his presence in the team could benefit Erik ten Hag more than he did under Louis van Gaal.
He previously joined Barcelona on a free transfer after a successful spell at Lyon, and he will not want to take a step back by joining a lesser club at the age of 28, when his finest days are still ahead of him.
