Tyrell Malacia is expected to leave Manchester United on loan on January’s transfer deadline day.

The 25-year-old has been declared surplus to needs at Old Trafford following the arrival of fellow full-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
Malacia was set to join Portuguese club Benfica over the weekend, but the deal fell through due to their refusal to satisfy United’s loan fee demands.
The Dutch defender was left out of United’s home defeat to Crystal Palace after saying his goodbyes to his teammates at Carrington.
Malacia is still expected to leave Manchester United United before tonight’s deadline, with a physical scheduled for his potential move to PSV Eindhoven.
Fabrizio Romano thinks a deal is “close,” but there is still work to be done before Malacia is recognized a PSV player.
Malacia has struggled for regular playing time under Ruben Amorim and has not started in the Premier League since the home defeat to Bournemouth in December, reports Manchester World.
The former Feyenoord defender fell further down the pecking order following the arrival of Dorgu, as well as the imminent return to action for Luke Shaw.
In addition to a deal for Dorgu, United have already agreed to sign teenage full-back Diego Leon during the summer transfer window. Even if Malacia moves on loan this month, he will be eligible for a permanent contract at the end of the season.
