Manchester United Unveil New 2024/25 Home kit With Inspiration From Busby Babes Strip

Manchester United has unveiled their new home kit for the 2024/25 season. Reported By Manchester news.

Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Kobbie Mainoo took center stage in the kit release picture session, duplicating their legendary celebration while sitting atop the advertising hoardings.

The new home shirt features two shades of red in a gradient design with white trim and is inspired by a shirt worn by the Busby Babes in 1952. This was made of reflecting materials to improve visibility on the pitch during the early years of evening games played under floodlights.

The uniform is completed with typical white shorts and black socks. A red devil logo on the front of the accompanying black socks serves as a final reference to the club’s illustrious history.

adidas’ SVP of Product and Design, Sam Handy, stated, “The colour red is consistently crucial to the club’s DNA. It has been expressed in a variety of ways over the years, and we wanted to try something new in 2024/25.

“We’ve drawn inspiration from a little-known shirt from the 1952 tour, which is a fantastic early example of creative design in matchwear and was worn by some of the club’s most legendary players.

“Its colour-shifting appearance was a big influence in this season’s modern expression of the home kit, designed to capture attention from all angles on pitch.”

United had to wait until July 1 before the new kit was published. Various leaks of the new Adidas design have circulated this summer, including a new front-of-shirt sponsor, although all three shirts are unlikely to be displayed until later in the summer.
