Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has appeared in court on charges of attempted rape, controlling behavior, and assault.
The 21-year-old England international arrived in court at Minshull Street Crown Court wearing a black suit, a white shirt, and a black tie.
Manchester Magistrates’ Court previously heard that he is charged with attempted rape relating to an incident on October 22 2021.
Also engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour between November 1 2018 and October 15 2022, namely accessed and monitored social media accounts, stopped and altered the way a female socialised, made threatening and derogatory comments towards a female; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm between December 1 2021 and December 31 2021.
Mason Greenwood’s court case has been adjourned at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester until next year.

Today (November 21), Mr Greenwood only spoke to confirm his name and date of birth. No pleas were entered during the preliminary hearing which lasted less than ten minutes.

A proposed trial date has been set for November 27 2023.
Jason Pitter KC, prosecuting, asked for a case management hearing to be held on February 10 next year.
The case was adjourned to February 10 next year for a further case management hearing to be heard at Minshull Street Crown Court.
Mr Greenwood, of Bow Green Road, Bowdon, Trafford, was bailed until the next hearing, with conditions not to contact any witnesses in the case including the victim, and to reside at an address on Bow Green Road.
