Roberto Mancini has been linked with a return to Serie A with Milan next season, reports the Mirror.
The former Manchester City head coach is a candidate to replace Slaven Bilic at West Ham – or even take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal this summer.
But Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport today claims the Chinese consortium which is buying Milan from Silvio Berlusconi now want Mancini.
Current Milan coach Vicenzo Montella is under pressure after losing four consecutive games to slip down to eighth place.
The takeover by Sino-Europe Sports is expected to go through by March 3 and will bring in Marco Fassone as chief executive and Massimo Mirabelli as sporting director – both who previously worked for Inter Milan.
Mancini won three Serie A titles with Inter between 2004-08 but his second spell at the San Siro ended with the sack before the start of this season.
Inter Milan’s new Chinese owners are ready to offer Antonio Conte a £13m a year salary and a £350m transfer kitty to rebuild the Italian giants.
Tuttosport claimed on Sunday that the Suning group want the former Juventus player and coach to overtake the Turin club as the top club in Italy – and then conquer Europe.
