Tottenham transfer news: Spurs and Liverpool have been linked with a summer deal for Manuel Ugarte, and his agency has hinted at his future move.
Tottenham has a crucial few months ahead of them, as the club’s direction might shift radically based on decisions made. Following a slew of changes in recent weeks, Chairman Daniel Levy has been charged with naming a new head coach and director of football.
Antonio Conte’s reign was cut short, with Ryan Mason taking over as interim manager until the end of the season after a brief stint under Cristian Stellini. Fabio Paratici departed his position behind the scenes, leaving Spurs short in areas needed for long-term planning.
Once those roles are filled, the next objective will be to provide the next coach with a group that is ready to compete once more. A number of players have been connected with a move, including Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who has impressed for the Portuguese club.

Spurs aren’t the only ones who admire him; Liverpool are also said to be interested, given their need for a midfield overhaul in the coming months. Ugarte’s agent, Jorge Chijane, has also not ruled out a move, suggesting that something will be finalized within the next 15 days.
He said, as quoted by the Mirror: “Liverpool? There is a lot of talk, but they are not the only club and they are others. There is a lot of talk, but I am still not sure about the club [he will sign with]. I believe that in 15 days the situation will be resolved. It’s almost certain that he won’t stay [at Sporting], it’s sure he’ll leave. Soon I’ll be [with him] in Lisbon.”
