Manchester United have agreed to buy Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain in the last week of the summer transfer season.
United is expected to pay an initial €50 million (£42.29 million) fee for the Uruguay international, with an extra €10 million (£8.46 million) in payments.
Ugarte might even fly to Manchester for his physical on Tuesday, with the club optimistic of closing the deal before Friday’s deadline. The 23-year-old might make his Premier League debut against Liverpool this weekend.

United’s signing of Ugarte would be partially funded by the sale of Scott McTominay, who they agreed to sell to Napoli for an initial cost of around £25 million. The Scottish international could have his physical with the Italian club on Tuesday. Reported on Manchester world.
Ugarte may not only take McTominay’s position in the United first team, but he may also inherit his shirt number. Ugarte has worn the No.4, No.8, No.14, No.15, and No.20 jerseys throughout his club career, all of which are already in use at Old Trafford.
He will also be unable to wear any of his international squad numbers. Ugarte has worn the numbers 5, 6, 15, 17, 20, and 25 for the national team. If Jadon Sancho leaves before deadline day, he will be able to wear only the No.25 shirt at United.
Ugarte’s other significant option is the No.26, which was his first squad number in professional football while with CA Fenix. Dean Henderson left Old Trafford a year ago, and it has been vacant since then. If Victor Lindelof quits before the deadline, he could be awarded the No. 2 shirt.
