As the Three Lions get ready to face Italy in their first Euro 2024 qualifying match on Thursday night, Marcus Rashford made the most of his time away from the England camp this week by flying to New York for some well-deserved rest.
The talented Manchester United forward, who has scored 18 goals in 25 games across all competitions since the World Cup, withdrew from Gareth Southgate’s squad on Monday due to injury.
He apparently suffered the injury during his team’s FA Cup quarterfinal victory over Fulham last weekend, which they won 3-1.
Although neither United nor the FA have confirmed the specifics of the injury or its severity, insiders maintain that the issue is real and significant enough to prevent his selection.
Rashford took to social media on Thursday to share a picture of him relaxing in New York, sporting sunglasses, a snood and a white bag worth approximately Ā£2,700.

He also shared a story from what appeared to be Central Park on Thursday morning.
The 25-year-old’s absence comes as a major blow for Southgate, who was expected to line-up with a star-studded front three of Rashford, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
