Maresca Addresses Chelsea’s Interest In Garnacho

Enzo Maresca has reportedly addressed Chelsea’s interest in Manchester United ace, Alejandro Garnacho.

United executives have made the internal decision to consider any bids for young players Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, even if the Red Devils are not actively seeking to sell the duo. This is because the sale of either player might aid United’s financial status in relation to the Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).

Given that Napoli are already interested in the Argentina international, Chelsea are believed to be keeping an eye on Garnacho’s circumstances and considering an approach.

According to some sources, Chelsea are getting ready to bid for Garnacho during the last week of the January transfer window, but they haven’t made up their minds yet.

The 20-year-old would reportedly cost about £60 million.

According to The Evening Standard, when asked about Garnacho when speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Manchester City on Saturday, Blues boss Enzo Maresca said: “I’m happy with the ones we have [in that position] at the moment. In this moment, we are okay.”

After winger Mykhailo Mudryk failed a drugs test in December and was given a provisional suspension by the Football Association, the Blues are reevaluating their forward options. Mudryk has pledged to establish his innocence and denies intentionally consuming any prohibited substance.

Meanwhile, the fates of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are unresolved with both looking for more game time.
