Martinelli Declares He Wants To Stay At Arsenal Amid Contract Talks

As negotiations for the Brazilian forward’s new contract continue, Gabriel Martinelli has insisted he wants to stay at Arsenal.

Martinelli, one of Arsenal’s standout players this season, scored his fourth goal of the season on Sunday as the Gunners defeated Liverpool to reclaim first place in the Premier League.

In the victory, the Brazilian became the Arsenal’s youngest ever player to score and assist in a Premier League game against Liverpool.

Will Martinelli Stay At Arsenal?

Martinelli’s current contract, which he signed in 2019, has just under two years left on it, although Arsenal does have the option to extend it by an additional two years.

However, the club is aware that the young forward merits new terms, and discussions with his representation are currently taking place.

Martinelli, 21, responded strongly when questioned about his contract situation claiming that he wants to stay with Arsenal.

Following the game, he said: “Of course, I want to stay. We are talking. Let’s see what is going to happen. But I want to stay, of course.
