Mason Mount Sets UEFA Champions League Target For Chelsea

Mason Mount is confident Chelsea can win the UEFA Champions League this season. The Blues defeated defending Serie A champions AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro on Tuesday night.
Mount assisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal to secure the three points after foul by Fikayo Tomori on him resulted in a Chelsea penalty converted by Jorginho.

The Evening Standard quotes the England international as saying: “We want to go all the way to the end. That’s always our goal.
“I feel with our squad we can do that. We have a lot of confidence in that but we are also humble. Maybe we are not the favourites but that was the same when we won it.”

In 2021, the Blues experienced European triumph when they won the Champions League for the second time in club history.

They defeated Manchester City, who were the competition’s early favorites, 1-0 in Portugal to win the title.

Mason Mount only played for 45 minutes against Milan owing to a first-half booking. Graham Potter decided to rest the 23-year-old, who later won Player of the Match honors for his outstanding performance.

Chelsea currently leads Group E and look certain to advance to the competition’s knockout rounds.

A trip to Austria to play RB Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena Salzburg is the next step in Chelsea’s UEFA Chamions League trophy pursuit.
