Chelsea manager-elect Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly given his approval for the club to sign Bayern Munich attacker Sadio Mane this summer.
Mane, 31, has had a difficult season with the Bavarians after signing from Liverpool last year, starting only 17 Bundesliga games this season.
A post-match scuffle with teammate Leroy Sane following Bayern Munich’s Champions League loss to Manchester City hasn’t improved Mane’s reputation with the club’s management and supporters, and the Senegal international could be on his way out.
According to Football Insider, Mauricio Pochettino has given his potential new employers Chelsea the all light to try to acquire Mane this summer, with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager thought to be a big fan of the player.
Mane is expected to be the club’s priority signing in the attacking department as the club look to fix offensive issues that have cost them this season.
Bayern Munich are open to proposals for the 31-year-old, and a deal could be done for as little as £30m.
A move to Chelsea will not go over well with Reds fans, but it is one option for the Senegal star this summer.

The Blues are looking for a new striker this summer, but are limited by financial fair play restrictions and a paucity of top-tier strikers on the market.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has been observed on a regular basis, but the cost of the deal – he is valued at well over £100m – makes a move doubtful.
Caretaker manager Frank Lampard will lead his team to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night to face Arsenal in the Premier League; a win in North London would push the Blues over the 40-point mark with just five games remaining.
