Chelsea are reportedly considering trimming their roster by as many as 15 players during the summer.
As a result of a tumultuous two transfer windows under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, the Blues have a bloated first-team roster that has proven unmanageable for Graham Potter and Frank Lampard this season.
The senior ranks, however, will be trimmed in the coming months as a result of Chelsea’s requirement to meet FFP criteria and the lack of European football on the calendar.
Mauricio Pochettino, who was appointed as the new head coach on Monday, has also stated that he wants to work with a smaller squad when he formally takes over on July 1.
Over the last 24 hours, it has been claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge, while Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has disclosed that Chelsea have already notified him that they will not be attempting to keep loanee Joao Felix.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair are among 15 players that Chelsea intends to split ways in the near future.
Selling academy grads for what would be a pure profit on the books has long been recommended as a preferable manner of raising revenue, most notably through the exit of Mason Mount.

However, the report claims that four more homegrown players are available for sale, namely Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The West Londoners will also need to acquire finances by selling players like Hakim Ziyech, Mateo Kovacic, and Christian Pulisic.
If a fair sum cannot be obtained, Kalidou Koulibaly may be permitted to depart on loan; Cesar Azpilicueta is also poised to go after more than a decade at the club.
