Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has stated that the club will continue to win despite the absence of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Kylian Mbappe. The Brazilian asked everyone to respect the Frenchman’s choice, but denied that it was a major setback for Los Blancos.
Mbappe was expected to join Real Madrid this summer, but he chose to stay at PSG. Last Monday, the forward signed a new three-year contract, putting an end to doubts about his future when his previous contract expired this summer.

Casemiro addressed to the media (May 24) ahead of the Champions League final on May 28 in Paris versus Liverpool. He was, however, reticent to discuss Mbappe’s exclusion. He emphasized that the club continues to win despite the departure of superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, and that the same would be true if Mbappe did not join them. He stated (as reported by Marca):
“This club does not live on players. He [Mbappe] is going to keep winning, it’s his story. Cristiano is gone, Ramos is gone, and Madrid will continue to win.
“Mbappé is a great player and you have to respect his decision. It’s his life, his family… May he do very well except when he plays against Madrid.”

Concerning Los Blancos, Mbappe said that he informed Florentino Perez of his decision immediately. He added:
“Last week, I made my decision. I had a conversation with Florentino Perez. I have a great deal of respect for him and Real Madrid. They went out of their way to get me there and make me happy, and I appreciate it.”
The forward has not ruled out a future move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but has acknowledged to holding negotiations with Liverpool.
