Kylian Mbappe expressed excitement on Wednesday at being reunited with his France teammates as he prepares to win his first international cap in six months against Croatia in the Nations League quarter-finals.
“I feel good, I feel happy to be playing football, and I feel happy to be here,” France captain Mbappe said during a news conference in Split.
The 26-year-old missed two games in October owing to injury, and two more in November when coach Didier Deschamps chose to rest him amid a tough period for the player as he adjusted to life at new club Real Madrid.
However, ahead of Thursday’s first-leg match in Croatia, Mbappe stated that he was “delighted to be back with the group”.

“The majority of the team members who are here converse almost constantly. I went on vacation with some of them. It is a delight to be here. “The situation may have been unclear to those outside, but it has always been clear internally,” he said. According To News cgtn.
The 2018 World Cup winner joined Real Madrid last summer, but has admitted that he has struggled to find his best form for the reigning Spanish and European champions.
“A career isn’t linear. You need to refocus on what makes you happy and return to work. What if I had to do things differently? Looking back at the conclusion of 2024, Mbappe admitted, “I would have played better.”
France will face Croatia in Split on Thursday before hosting the return match three days later at the Stade de France in Paris.
