Kylian Mbappe reportedly started an argument that involved 60 people in the tunnel following Paris Saint-Germain’s elimination of Barcelona in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Mbappe was the star of the return match against Barca, scoring twice in a 4-1 triumph on the night and a 6-4 victory on aggregate. He wasn’t at his best in the first leg at the Parc des Princes. The 25-year-old delivered the game-winning goal in the 89th minute after giving PSG the lead from the penalty spot.
There were reports that following the game in Catalonia, emotions ran wild. Mundo Deportivo as claimed by The Mirror stated that after Mbappe made a provocative remark in Spanish, a heated argument broke out between him and the Barcelona players in the tunnel.
Mbappe allegedly yelled, “This is football and it’s on the pitch where you have to talk,” as he made his way into the PSG dressing room after their historic victory.
After hearing the remark, Barcelona players became enraged. And a confrontation escalated into a melee involving over 60 persons. There have been allegations of involvement from players, coaching staff, and security.

The intense verbal scrimmage was supposed to have left no one hurt or damaged physically. After the full-time whistle, Mbappe was reportedly seen yelling in French, “Let’s go!” which was also to incite the Barcelona supporters. Then, it seemed as though the France international turned to face PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
After Borussia Dortmund defeated Atletico Madrid 5-4 in an exciting quarterfinal match. PSG will now play the German team in the Champions League final four.
