Messi Back In Training As Inter Miami Keep On Rolling

Lionel Messi resumed training with Inter Miami on Wednesday, more than six weeks after leaving the Copa America final with a severely damaged right ankle.

There is currently no official timeframe for Messi’s return to play, and he has not been selected by Argentina for World Cup qualifiers in early September.

“To see him on the field is great,” Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender said following Wednesday’s session. “I know he has been receiving treatment and training on a daily basis. He has previously dealt with similar situations. He has been there, done that, and continues to perform at the greatest level. To watch him recover from the type of injuries we witnessed at Copa America, and be available for us this season, it goes to show the quality of care we have here.”Reported by insider world football.

Messi has 12 goals and 13 assists in 12 MLS games for Inter Miami this season. He has missed 14 league games for the club, including the previous eight, either to play for Argentina or to recover from an injury.

However, his absence has had little effect on his team’s progress in the MLS, as they became the third fastest club to qualify for the MLS playoffs with a 2-0 victory over FC Cincinnati.

On the pitch, the MLS awarded Luis Suarez the Player of the Matchday for Match Day 29.
