Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has fired a new barb at the board this morning over Luis Suarez’s departure.
The striker gave his farewell media conference yesterday ahead of joining Atletico Madrid.
The 33 year old Uruguay international signed a two-year contract with the club on Friday after passing his medical.
The 33-year-old joined Barca from Liverpool in 2014, winning the Champions League title in his first season in Spain.
In a social media post today, Messi declared: “I got used to the idea but when I walked into the locker room today it all just got too real. That it will be difficult not to share my daily life with you, on and off the pitch. We will miss you so much.
“All these years, these many mates, these meals, these dinners … Lots of things that we will never forget, and all these days spent together. What a strange feeling when I see you wearing another jersey, and especially when I have to face you. You deserve to leave by the front door, a farewell at your height: one of the most important players in the history of the club, who has achieved real exploits both for the team but also individually.
“You didn’t deserve to be released like they did. But the truth is that today nothing surprises me. I wish you all the best in this new challenge. I love you so much, I love you all so much.
“See you soon, buddy.”
