ARGENTINIAN superstar Lionel Messi was allegedly involved in a tunnel bust up following Barcelona’s defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The striker is believed to have clashed with a Manchester City star after the unnamed player said something to him as they left the pitch at the Etihad.
Messi is thought to have responded by calling him an ‘imbecile’, according to reports in Spain
The 29-year-old is alleged to have headed to the City dressing room to look for the unnamed player, yelling “come back here, don’t hide” before being calmed down by international team-mate Sergio Aguero – a close friend – who plays for English club City.
The latest incident involving a Barca star comes just days after Messi’s team-mate Neymar shoved an opposition player down a flight of stairs.
The incident occurred following the full-time whistle in Saturday’s game between Barcelona and Granada.
Neymar and Ruben Vezo had been tussling all game and the Brazilian was booked for a late challenge on the 22-year-old.
But things continued to escalate following the final whistle when the pair came head-to-head again as they were leaving the pitch.
Neymar and Vezo’s heated discussion turned ugly and the Barcelona star pushed his foe in the back as they were walking down stairs.
Turning round, Vezo displays his anger and shoves Neymar in return who lands firmly on his backside.
According to reports, the scuffle continued in the tunnel and the players had to be seperated.
It is thought that no further action will be taken at this time.
Meanwhile, City boss Pep Guardiola admitted his team rode their luck early on last night.
Messi’s sublime goal had given Luis Enrique’s side the lead in the Group C clash and the hosts barely clung on as the La Liga champions spurned several glorious chances.
