Metz face a fight to keep hold of Habibou Diallo as Premier League high-flyers Leicester continue to be linked with the in-form striker. The Foxes are understood to be keen to add to their attacking options in January to ease the pressure on Jamie Vardy.
Rangers star Alfredo Morelos had been mentioned as a target, but the Ibrox club have recently issued a hands-off warning and it seems as if Leicester are weighing up other options.
Leicester have been linked with Diallo previously and could be ready to step up their interest with Morelos seemingly out of reach for the time being.
Diallo helped fire Metz to promotion last season with 26 goals in 37 Ligue 2 games and he has carried over his impressive form into the current campaign.
The 24-year-old former Brest star has been in sensational form for Metz this season and he has eight Ligue 1 goals in just 13 games for the side sat in 17th place in the French top flight.
It has been suggested Metz value Diallo at around £10million but they may demand a higher fee in an inflated January market, particularly given his scoring exploits this season.
Diallo is under contract at the Stade Saint-Symphorien until 2022 so the French outfit are in a fairly strong bargaining position, and there are a number of clubs said to be keen.
There is likely to be further interest from the Premier League as both Norwich City and Newcastle United have been linked, while Chelsea and Tottenham are also thought to have sent scouts to see the striker in action for Les Grenats.
