Michy Batshuayi has expressed his frustration with working under Antonio Conte, accusing the Italian of signing him under false promises.
Batshuayi joined Chelsea for £33.2m after scoring 23 goals for Marseille in the 2015-16 season.
Chelsea won the Premier League during Batshuayi’s debut season in West London, with the Belgian international scoring the winning goal against West Bromwich Albion.
However, Conte only gave Batshuayi 235 minutes of Premier League action during that season, which were split over 20 outings.
Rather than using two forwards as he did in previous jobs, Conte chose to play Diego Costa as a lone central striker assisted by two wingers.
Batshuayi’s game time increased in his second season at Chelsea, with 12 appearances totalling 353 minutes before joining Borussia Dortmund on loan in January 2018.
Speaking to Belgian outlet SPORT, the 28-year-old reiterated his displeasure with his 18-month stint under Conte, who is now at Tottenham Hotspur.
Batshuayi said: “Conte was constantly contradicting himself. To start with my arrival. He called me and explained his project. He wanted me to play in a two-man frontline alongside Diego Costa.
“Did I believe that? Of course, because Conte has played with two attackers all his career. Except at Chelsea with me. I do not understand. The truth is that I have been fooled far too often.”

Despite scoring 25 goals in 77 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, Batshuayi has been loaned out five times.
Batshuayi’s first stay with Dortmund was the most fruitful, with nine goals in 14 games. He has also played for Valencia, Crystal Palace twice, and Besiktas.
His six-year stint at Chelsea ended earlier this month when he signed a two-year contract with Fenerbahce.
