Arsenal are interested in signing former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, and Mikel Arteta is totally supportive of the deal, according to sources.
After suffering in the striker position this season, the Gunners are set to seek a new player this summer.
No Arsenal player has scored double figures this season, with injured attacker Kai Havertz leading the club with nine Premier League goals.
There were reservations about Havertz’s goal-scoring abilities, but Arsenal have appeared even more impotent in front of goal since the Germany international suffered a catastrophic hamstring injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season.
The north London club has also suffered in wide areas this season, with Bukayo Saka still out injured and players such as Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Raheem Sterling underperforming.
According to German tabloid Bild, Arsenal is looking for winger reinforcements and has turned to Sane of Bayern Munich.
Sane, 29, has had five great seasons with Bayern after leaving Manchester City in 2020, making over 200 appearances for the German club.
The three-time Bundesliga winner remains a significant presence at the Allianz Arena, having made 33 appearances in all competitions this season, but his time in Munich may be coming to an end.
Unless he signs a new contract in the next months, Sane will become a free agent in the summer, giving him the option of joining another club on a free transfer.
