Mikel Arteta praised Ethan Nwaneri after he scored two goals against Bolton Wanderers, but warned him against making his Premier League debut.
The Gunners defeated League One side Bolton Wanderers 5-1 to advance to the fourth round, where they will face Preston North End, as a young team dominated the Trotters. Declan Rice, Raheem Sterling, and Kai Havertz contributed to Nwaneri’s brace, while teenagers Jack Porter, Josh Nichols, and Myles Lewis-Skelly also started the game.

Nwaneri made his Premier League debut as a 15-year-old in 2022, becoming the league’s youngest player, but he has yet to start a game. The midfielder’s outstanding performance more than justified his first competitive start with the club.Reported by mirror.
Nwaneri has been a regular in Arsenal’s matchday squad this season, despite playing only four minutes before scoring against Bolton. Arteta has hinted that more playing time may be on the way, however.

“Beginning in the Premier League is another stage. On his trip, he has surpassed our expectations. He’ll have minutes. He deserved it.
“It was a huge breakthrough for Jack. He was over the moon. His family was nervous. But he handled it quite nicely. What a way to shatter the record. He has been training with us. We thought he was prepared. We think he was the proper option.
Porter, Arsenal’s goalie, set another club record. The 16-year-old debutant shattered Cesc Fabregas’ record by becoming the youngest player to start a competitive game for the north London club.
With David Raya injured and Neto cup-tied, Arteta gave the youngster the chance to start at the Emirates. The Arsenal manager was thrilled by Porter’s reaction to the news.
