The 25-year-old, according to the Spaniard, is essential to the way the team functions and is commended for setting “outstanding standards” as the team’s captain.

Arteta Worlds?

Indeed, Arteta stated, “he’s a really important player.” We required that harmony. Additionally, the chemistry that some athletes possess since that’s how we develop those bonds and relationships and how they train. Martin is essential to making all the connections in our playing.

Arteta went on to say of Odegaard’s captaincy, “He’s made huge steps there.” His demeanor in front of the group, his presence, and the standards he sets are exceptional. There are many of players who will follow and encourage him.

Odegaard had to step up on Wednesday in the absence of the likes of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice from the starting XI against the Hatters.

Saka was declared ineligible for the squad and Arteta gave the following explanation: “He had to come off against Manchester City three days ago, he was feeling something.”

He hasn’t completed all the tasks required of him in order for him to be able to begin the game. Thus, we have chosen not to cast him.

In addition, Arteta said, “He was close but again he felt something in a very similar area against City and it was a very short turnaround.” The England winger might return as soon as Saturday for the trip to Brighton.

“Hopefully, he’ll be able to resume his training so we can spend the weekend with him.”
