Mikel Arteta may like to retain Aaron Ramsdale as goalkeeper despite reports that he is interested in joining Nottingham Forest.
Ramsdale’s status at the Emirates Stadium has declined.

While on loan with the Gooners last season, David Raya established himself as the team’s number one goalkeeper.
The Spaniard has now inked a long-term contract with the team, reports Nottinghamshire Live.
The former player for AFC Bournemouth had a great time during his first two seasons at Arsenal and appeared to be headed for a long career in North London, but it appears that Raya’s arrival has derailed those hopes.
Mikel Arteta may have already taken a stand. “I’m not going to comment on them things [transfer rumors],” he had stated in April. When asked about Ramsdale’s circumstances, he went on, saying, “Idea? The fact that Aaron is here due to his contract and status as one of our players is a huge truth.
Despite being a member of Gareth Southgate’s UEFA Euro 2024 roster, the goalkeeper did not play in the competition.
“No footballer wants to not play,” he stated in an interview prior to the tournament, acknowledging that it was “tough” for him to not be playing for his club.
I had a difficult year personally and would never want to give up playing.”
