Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel found an original way to welcome his new teammate David Luiz to the dressing room.
Mikel has not been involved in any of the three opening fixtures of the Premier League this season. Nonetheless, he hasn’t lost his sense of humour.
In the last hour of the summer transfer window Chelsea announced the signing of David Luiz, for a reported fee of £34m. The Nigerian midfielder welcomed the new signing via Twitter on Thursday afternoon… by posting a picture of a row the Brazilian had with Diego Costa in the past.
“Welcome home, David Luiz! Remember to be nice to Diego!” he attached to the picture, next to a smiley and the hashtag #Carefree.

David Luiz and Costa had some altercations when they faced each other, both in Chelsea-Atletico and PSG-Chelsea games. In fact, it’s difficult to recall a game where the Spanish international has not been involved in small fights with any of his opponents.
However, off the field they don’t seem to have any problem. Furthermore, the defender once said he would welcome the striker to Paris Saint-Germain, when he was still there.
“Diego and myself have had our clashes on the field, but you must understand there are two Diegos.” David Luiz said last January..
“On the field he is physical, he is confrontational, he will get in your face, that is part of his game.
“Off the field he is a good friend, one of the nicest guys you can meet, somebody I would go to dinner with.”
Last season, Chelsea got knocked out by PSG in the last 16 round of the Champions League, with both players playing the two legs.
Costa, now 27 years old, has scored twice in the new season and also delivered an assist.
On the other hand, David Luiz helped his former club start the Ligue 1 with two wins and two clean sheets, but Monaco beat PSG 3-1 in his last game in France.
