Mohamed Salah gave a cryptic hint regarding his Liverpool future on Sunday, saying he would never forget the thrill of scoring at Anfield “no matter what happens”. Salah’s brilliant winner in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday sent the club to the top of the Premier League. The 32-year-old’s ninth goal of the season demonstrated his immense worth to the Reds as they pursue their first English crown since 2020. Salah’s long-term future, however, is questionable, as his contract expires at the end of the season.
Salah will be eligible to negotiate with non-English clubs in January, and his new social media post has fueled speculation that he may be ready to go.

“This club belongs at the top of the table.” Nothing less. All teams win matches, but there is only one champion at the end. “That’s what we want,” he tweeted on X 24 hours after his eye-catching curler against Brighton.
“I appreciate your support last night. No matter what happens, I’ll never forget how it feels to score at Anfield.
Salah, who currently earns an estimated 350,000 pounds ($453,000) per week, revealed following Liverpool’s 3-0 triumph against Manchester United earlier this season that he had yet to be contacted by the club regarding a new contract
“To be fair, I was coming to the game, and it could be my last time playing at Old Trafford,” he told Sky Sports in September.
But Liverpool manager Arne Slot seems unconcerned about Salah’s future, or fans’ concerns about defenders Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are also out of contract at the end of the season.
“The contract situation becomes a problem if players don’t perform as well as they are now,” remarked the coach.

“At the present, all three are in good positions and performing exceptionally well. There are ongoing negotiations with the persons Virgil says he has to speak with, and they are not me, as you are aware.”
