Mohamed Salah Sets Another Liverpool Anfield Record In Brentford victory

Mohamed Salah accomplished another impressive Liverpool feat in the two-nil win over Brentford.

Luis Diaz started the score for Arne Slot’s team, and the Colombian also set up the second goal, shooting a sharp pass to the Egyptian after Liverpool counter-pressed effectively. Set up one on one, there was an air of inevitability as he caressed the ball past Mark Flekken for the clinching second goal. Reported By Liverpool News.

Salah now has two goals in two games, and it was another Anfield goal – he scored 13 in the league last season – but today’s strike propelled him over Robbie Fowler in the all-time scoring record at the historic stadium.

Mohamed Salah Now The Fifth Highest Scorer.

Salah is now the fifth-highest scorer at Anfield in all competitions, with 118 goals, surpassing Fowler’s 117. Currently, only Ian Rush (185), Roger Hunt (173), Gordon Hodgson (159), and Billy Liddell (137) are ahead of him.

Salah is also fifth on the club’s all-time goals list. Only the aforementioned trio of Liddell (228), Hodgson (241) Hunt (285) and Rush (346) are ahead of him, and he has a real chance to move up a few spots with another successful campaign. He managed 25 in all competitions last season and, at 32, shows no signs of slowing down.

With his current contract set to expire next summer, there is considerable concern that the problem has not been settled yet. Given his continued importance to the team, his contract issue will be at the top of the priority list for the club’s management when the transfer window closes.

The next match is against Manchester United at Old Trafford, a venue and opponent that Salah has a personal fondness for. Salah has 14 goals and four assists in 15 outings versus the Red Devils across all competitions, including a hat-trick in 2021 and a goal in both the league and FA Cup at their ground last season.
