England skipper Eoin Morgan admits his team needs to improve after losing the second T20 international against New Zealand. The Black Caps have levelled the series at 1-1 following a 21-run victory at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. After being set a target of 177, England started very badly, slipping to 3-2 after just eight balls. Dawid Malan was England’s highest run-scorer knocking just 39 from 29 balls as England came up short. Earlier though, England’s fielding was particularly poor with Malan, James Vince – more than once – and Sam Billings dropping routine catches. And, Morgan says that area definitely needs improvement. The Irishman said: “When you drop that amount of catches it’s not a great reflection on the performance and the levels of fielding that we aspire to be. “There were a couple of catches that went in the sun which made it look a lot worse but as regards our standard catches, we expect more. “I think it’s more of an attitude thing because there’s such a short turnaround, the natural default of any player is to step back and not commit to a 50-50 chance or their mindset changes to go back in their shell.”
