Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he wants to dedicate Sunday’s 1 -0 over Tottenham to Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first ever Premier League goal secured a narrow win for the Red Devils against Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
After the final whistle, Mourinho bizarrely insisted he wanted to dedicate the three points to Fellaini, after it was theBelgian’s mistake which cost Man Utd two points against Everton.
Fellaini was a late substitute at Goodison Park last weekend, and immediately gave away a penalty for a foul on Idrissa Gueye just two minutes after he was introduced.
Speaking to BBC Sport following the match, the Portuguese said: “I want to dedicate the victory to Marouane Fellaini.
“I am dedicating the win to Marouane because it was him involved with the loss of two points in the last match.”
When asked about the crowd, who booed Fellaini when he was substituted on, Mourinho added: “They can do what they want, they are phenomenal with us. I have to thank everything they give us when sometimes we did not give them so much.”
