Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is “falling in love” with Manchester United.
The Portuguese tactician took over the reigns at Old Trafford in the summer following the departure of Louis van Gaal and oversaw victory in the Community Shield as well as a perfect start to the Premier League season after the first three games.
Despite hitting somewhat of a sticky patch immediately following the first international break of the campaign – in which United lost three games in succession across all competitions – as well as a number of frustrating results of late, Mourinho insists he’s thoroughly enjoying his time at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
In Mourinho’s programme notes ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Feyenoord on Thursday night, he wrote:
“The amazing support I see for United makes me fall in love with the fans and the club more and more, and it makes my desire to bring you happiness even greater.”
Mourinho’s side moved a step closer to qualification for the knockout stages of the Europa League with a comfortable 4-0 victory over the Eredivisie champions thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, an own goal from Brad Jones and Jesse Lingard.
His team are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host West Ham United in the first of back-to-back meetings with the London outfit.
