Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United have a squad ready to compete at home and abroad and does not expect to make any January signings.
The Red Devils have been linked with many players in recent months, but Mourinho admits that January is not the ideal time to strengthen his squad.
“I think for some positions we are comfortable in numbers even thinking and believing that we go further in the cup competitions,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“I always think the best time is the summer market. I always consider the January market as an emergency one where you can try to resolve some problems, where they can try to give a little boost to the team but it’s not an easy market, I have to admit that.
“We have an accumulation of fixtures in April, May and we have Europa League matches playing on Thursdays, Premier League matches on Sunday.
“Some positions we are going to have problems because we don’t have so many options but in injury terms we are successful and hopefully we won’t have many problems and we have conditions to fight in all the comps we are in.”
United look set to reach the final of the EFL Cup and are still competing in the F.A Cup and Europa League, to say nothing of their renewed title challenge in recent weeks.
Their squad could yet find themselves stretched by a few injuries as players depart the club after Morgan Schneiderlin left for Everton in a £24m deal while Dutch winger Memphis Depay was sold to Lyon.
Manchester United’s next fixture is away to Stoke City at 15:00 this Saturday.
