Alexis Sanchez has received a phone call from Jose Mourinho about the possibility of joining Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
Chile’s ‘El Show de Prensafutbol’ claim that the Arsenal forward has been contacted by the United manager, as well as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, to discuss the possibility of a transfer at the end of the season.
It’s also claimed that Chelsea have made the signing of the 28-year-old a priority, and the three Premier League clubs will now compete for the Chile international’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Sanchez will have just a year remaining on his current contract with Arsenal this summer and expected to leave, despite Arsene Wenger insisting that his leading goalscorer will honour the remainder of his deal.
‘He has a one and a half year contract,’ said the Arsenal manager.
‘I don’t see what suddenly that debate is about.
‘We are professional football people, our job is to perform as long as we are somewhere.
‘When I sign a contract, I commit until the last day of my contract. That is what it is to be professional.
‘I don’t understand this anxiety, one and a half years before the end of a contract. It’s absolutely denying what a professional guy is about.’
