Manchester United will launch a summer bid to sign Victor Lindelof from Benfica but could face competition from Manchester City for the defender’s signature, according to reports.
talkSPORT is reporting that the Red Devils are set to reignite their pursuit of the 22-year-old Sweden international as Jose Mourinho ponders bolstering his rearguard options at Old Trafford.
However, the same story claims that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side have now emerged as another possible contender for Lindelof’s signature this summer.
The report also links Real Madrid with a possible summer move for the defender.
Manchester United were linked with a possible move for Lindelof in the January transfer window but a switch failed to materialise as Manchester United did not bring in any new players at the turn of the year.
Lindelof has been a regular fixture in the Benfica team so far this season and has already made more than 30 appearances for the Portuguese side.
