Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Manchester United will sign “two or three” new players in the summer transfer window – and he has already decided his top targets.
The Red Devils were one of the Premier League’s biggest spending clubs last summer as Mourinho moved quickly to sign Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.
It was a largely quiet January transfer window for Manchester United as the Red Devils did not make any new signings.
There is bound to be plenty of speculation about which players Manchester United are going to sign in the summer as the transfer window draws ever nearer.
Antoine Griezmann is one name to have been regularly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
Now, Mourinho has revealed that the Red Devils will make a number of quality signings in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Mourinho said: “We will be ready in July to open the door for two or three good players to help us to improve our level.
“You reach a certain level of stability, you find your way to play, you find your philosophy to play and then you need one more push – and the next push is the next transfer window. We need the next push.”
Asked if he has already earmarked the players he wants to sign, Mourinho replied: “Yes.”
Manchester United are preparing to take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon.
