Mourinho unmoved after Schweinsteiger commits his future to Man United

Jose Mourinho was left unmoved by Bastian Schweinsteiger‘s social media post dedicating his future to Manchester United.

The midfielder has been subject of intense transfer speculation this summer but the saga took another twist as Schweinsteiger announced yesterday that United would be his last European club.

The former Bayern Munich man has so far failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford though and Jose Mourinho has announced the 32-year-old is no longer in his future plans.

Schweinsteiger insisted he was willing to work hard and would be “ready if the team needs me” but Mourinho doesn’t look set to make a U-turn on his stance.

The World Cup winner is currently ostracised from the first team and, according to the Telegraph, the club are hoping to pay-off the German’s contract which has nearly two years still left to run.

United have already taken offers from an array European clubs, including Premier League rivals, but Schweinsteiger has so far rejected them all.

Despite being a pivotal part of Germany’s and Bayern Munich’s recent dominance, the experienced middle-man has struggled to replicate his best form in the Premier League.

In a debut season plagued with injury, Schweinsteiger made very little impact and managed just one goal in 18 appearances.

Now, with the singing of Paul Pogba, it seems the German faces an even harder fight back into the first team squad and he is not expected to play for United again.
