“If my name was not Cristiano Ronaldo I would not be here” – Ronaldo says in court

Appearing in court to defend himself against allegations of tax crimes, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke for an hour and a half.

Pleading his innocence, the Portuguese player expressed his belief that he was only there because of his reputation.

“If my name was not Cristiano Ronaldo I would not be here,” he was quoted as saying, according to reports from newspaper El Espanol and LaSexta programme Al Rojo Vivo.
